In the united states of America and far too many other places on this planet, illnesses are celebrated and focused on much more than good health. When a person is asked about the state of his or her health, one of the first comments is whether not he or she has health insurance. Usually deep breathing, drinking clean pure water, eating healthy food, rest and relaxation are discussed later in the conversation. Now, what a person is eating may be part of the health conversation; however, generally eating is connected to the subject of being overweight. One of our main goals at the Amadi Wellness Connection (AWC) is to make health instead of dis-ease contagious and to help people see, feel, and overstand the connection of Spiritmindbody. What is NLP?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming/Psychotherapy (NLPt)
Neuro refers to neurological processes. The actual senses people have in common--seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, touching, and tasting—communicate and receive messages. These processes act as basic building blocks of our life experience.
Linguistic refers to the way we use language to express our life experience.
Programming / Psychotherapy refers the inner course or personal strategies we use to organize these inner processes to produce results, similar to the programming/ software of a computer.
NLP is a set of communication methods for enhancing personal and professional development and for creating personal change compassionately. It allows individuals to change, adopt, or eliminate behaviors, as they desire, and gives them the ability to choose consciously their mental, emotional, and physical states of well-being.
With NLP, they learn how to grow automatically from every single life experience, thus increasing their ability not just to hope but also to create a better quality of life. The basic premise of NLP is that the words people use reflect an inner, subconscious perception of their problems. If these words and perceptions are inaccurate, they will create an underlying problem as long as we continue to use and to think them. Attitudes represent a predetermined code of behavior. The good news is that with NLP people can replace unhealthy codes and with positive self-image, new attitude, thoughts, and patterns that effect change and promote wellness and healing.
What is the difference between Emancipating Your Spirit Live Communication sessions and Maat Healing Circles?
The Maat Healing Circle is a three hour communal adventure that aids participants in releasing obstacles to healing, helps to enhance a feeling of improved self-awareness and self-concept, allows participants to open up to their heart’s desires and to communicate with other sisters. Though the energy exchanged in the circles can be intense, the adventure is relaxing, interactive, revealing, fun, and healing. The Maat Healing Circles are usually conducted every four months in alignment with the seasons. The circles can be either all women or couples
Emancipating Your Spirit Live Communication sessions are ongoing and communication sessions are delivered in various ways, such as face -to-face three hour gatherings, tele-classes or classes taught at the Pan African Studies Community Education Program (PASCEP)at Temple University. The Sessions proivde an opportunity to learn how to take back one’s power and to enhance sense of self, freedom, liberty, and all aspects of your health. The purpose of these sessions is to bring together brothers and sisters (sometimes the sessions are all women) who are ready and willing: to explore barriers to peace, freedom and good health; to learn how to analyze the matrix; to express and develop their experience and understanding of our divine conscious connections while healing and raising awareness. In a non-judgmental space of radiant love and light energy, we can explore the ways that women have given their power away and the effects on health and well-being. Discussions include techniques to reclaim our divine birthrights of liberty, peace, happiness, and abundance, techniques for forgiveness, relaxation, and revitalization, ways to release all the nonsensical clutter, reduce or eliminate toxic relationships, raise consciousness, bring pure joy back, and increase the ability to heal themselves and the planet. Based on the group, often we also discuss healthy eating tips and basic knowledge of food.
Does the AWC provide relationship coaching?
Yes, we do. Communication issues, fear and lack of knowledge of self often attract and feed toxic relationships. We help individuals, couples, families or groups to navigate through the perceived barriers and guide them to a safe place.
What is the difference between Tui Na and Swedish massage?
Tui Na is more focused and therapeutic than other types of bodywork. The session is done entirely with the practitioner's hands to help increase the beneficial flow of Qi through the patients meridian system. Stretching and various hand techniques are used to restore and correct neuromuscular patterns and anatomical musculoskeletal relationships.
Swedish massage geared more toward relaxation, although upon the traped Qi is released, relaxation seems to be the natural result
What does AWC offer that can help a person cope with mounting stress?
We offer a 90 minute workshop which examines what is stress, how to manage it, and teach techniques to prevent being overcome by dis-Stress. The workshop is called The Art of Reducing Dis-Stress. This workshop can be presented for individuals, couples, families or groups.
How safe is HypnoCounselling or Hypnotherapy?
HypnoCounselling or Hypnotherapy uses hypnotic techniques to bring about beneficial changes. Deep relaxation, and directed speech allows the therapist to assist the client explore, assess uncover forgotten memories, buried emotions and/or past events which may affect a person's conscious mind. The discoveries allows the client to release blockages to the client's desired goals. HypnoCounselling has long been utilized to help clients activate his or her inner resources and to do constructive problem solving. Hypnotic techniques are useful to stop smoking, overcome alcohol and substance abuse, stress management, sleep disorders and mental health challenges such as anxiety, fear, phobias and depression. HypnoCounselling is very useful in during childbirth.
If I need more that one service, do I have to pay separate fees?
Often private consultations or coaching sessions may include the use of different healing /educational modalities. At AWC we utilize a wholistic approach to providing services; therefore if needed the initial and recurring session fee may include the use of different services at no extra cost.
Are private consultations expensive?
The fees are affordable and very reasonable. On a case by case basis sliding scale and/or bartering may apply.
Do you accept health insurance?
Not at this time
We educate and offer services that aid health and healing. However, we do not diagnose, treat or prescribe.
We offer nutritional information and wholistic health and wellness services to educate help you. since you are the captain of your health team which typically includes a primary natural physician and other health masters such as a massage therapist, reflexologist, an herbalist, counsellor, etc all working in cooperation in your mutual plan of building better health. In the event that you use this any health and wellness information and services without your doctor's approval, you are prescribing for your self; which is your divine and constitutional right, and you have the right to take full responsibility for your health.
Soulful Meditation is an interactive nine-week survey course that introduces various forms of meditation. Soulful meditation without intention can help participants to become more aware; to calm anxieties, quiet the mental chatter, and learn how release tension, relax and to feel again!
During the course, participants learn the importance of breathing, and regaining a positive sense of self. Although meditation is practiced in some religious groups, meditation is not associated with any particular religion. It is intended to induce a state of inner harmony and connection to individuals’ own peaceful and loving souls. According to meditation Master Osho, “Meditation is not a science, it is not an art... All that you need is a little patience.”
Why do people take the 9-week Soulful Meditation Reawakening course?
There are a variety of reasons why individuals take this course. Typically, participants come to the Amadi Wellness Connection programs to learn how to better manage every day stress. Our Soulful meditation is actually a combination or a survey of different meditation techniques so that participants can naturally gravitate towards the technique that helps them the most. can help to improve mood, increase focus, decrease worry and negative thinking and increase productivity and focus. However, there are individuals who take this program for more specific and/or significant concerns such as anxiety, pain management, illness or grief. The techniques learned in this course are universal and as such can be applied to a multitude of conditions.
What will I be asked to do when taking the 9-week Soulful Meditation Reawakening course?
Participants in the meditation course will be asked to commit to practicing the techniques learned in class at least 30-45 minutes per day on their own. Additionally, there will be some reading assignments and exercises to complete during the days between classes.
What if I cannot make all nine sessions or have to miss the all-day retreat?
Because each class builds upon the previous one, in order to receive the most benefit from this course, it is recommended that you plan to attend all 9 classes which includes the all-day retreat. If you anticipate being unable to do this, we suggest that you consider taking the course at a later date. For an unforeseen conflict you may be able to participate i scheduled make up sessions.
Do I have to bring anything or wear anything special for the 9 week course/sessions?
We recommend casual, comfortable clothing and suggest dressing in layers to accommodate temperature changes in your classroom. most of the sessions we will sit in chairs. However, you prefer we will have some meditation pillows and you are welcome to bring your own yoga mat. During the 3rd and 4th session we will do some activities that call for laying on a mat on the floor.
What if I have to cancel my registration for a course?
We understand that life often takes and unexpected turn , if you decide to cancel your registration, money paid are 100% refundable up until one (1) full week prior to the start of the program. In the case of the 9 week meditation course the cancellation date is one week prior to the start of your first session . After that date, there will be no refunds, no exceptions.
